Cleaning Instructions

Stainless steel has occasional need for spot cleaning to remove light dirt, grease and debris. Also, on satin or etched finishes, particles can get into the grain and give the steel the appearance of rust or discoloration. Stainless is easy to clean using the following guidelines:

Satin or Etched Finish
(Routine Cleaning) - Use detergent or soap and water. Wipe with a sponge or cotton cloth, rinse and wipe dry. Polish with stainless steel cleaner or glass cleaner to restore the sheen of the metal. Clean in the same direction as the surface grain, using a light steady pressure.

For hard water spots and scale, wipe or rub with vinegar. Rinse with water and dry.

For stubborn spots and stains or light discolorations, rub lightly and carefully with a mild abrasive cleanser in the direction of the grain. Apply with a sponge or cloth. Rinse and dry. Noxon (found in the hardware store) can be used to remove "rust like particles".

  • Do not use chlorinated chemicals or bleaching agents.
  • Do not use paper towels or other abrasive materials.

  • Mirrored Finish or Colored Stainless Steel
(Routine Cleaning) - Use detergent or soap and water. Wipe with a sponge or cotton cloth, rinse and wipe dry. Polish with glass cleaner and rub gently with a cotton cloth to restore the sheen of the metal.
